This class is designed as an introduction to Cisco Collaboration technologies. This accelerated learning will introduce the students to the following:

  • Design and Deployment of Cisco Unified Communication Manager and IP phones

  • Cisco Routers in Voice/Video Networks
  • Deploying Cisco Desktop and Mobile Clients
  • Designing Cisco IM and Presence
  • Designing Cisco Conferencing
  • Designing Cisco Customer Care

In addition to the theory based instruction from Collaboration design through to deployment, the learner will also meet these overall objectives through hands on labs:

  • Perform General Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM) Administration
  • Configure CUCM 9.0 Basic Settings
  • Configure Serviceability Administration
  • Configure SCCP Endpoints in CUCM 9.0
  • Manage Endpoints
  • Configure Voice Gateways
  • Configure a Dial Plan
  • Configure Regions, Locations based CAC
  • Configure SRST
  • Basic CSF/Jabber configuration (recap)
  • Explain new Jabber 9.1 “end user” capabilities
  • Configure WebEx escalation from Jabber
  • Implement IM/Presence nodes High availability

Familiarity with networking technologies and terminologies such as:

  • IP Addressing
  • Routing
  • Switching
  • Quality of Service mechanisms
  • Concept of codecs
  • Collaboration System Engineers who are new to Cisco Collaboration Architecture.
  • Traditional ‘Tandberg’ Video partners wishing to design, implement and support the Cisco Collaboration portfolio.

Module #3: Cisco Unified Communication Manager and IP phones LAB

  • Lab 1: Performing General Administration
  • Lab 2: Configuring Cisco CallManager 9.0 Basic Settings
  • Lab 3: Performing Serviceability Administration
